Havenhill Synergy is a clean-tech utility company that uses Solar Energy to generate clean, safe, cost-effective and sustainable electricity in rural and urban Nigeria. Havenhill is set to scale up her “end blackout” projects in rural communities by establishing several solar hybrid mini-grids and developing significant footprints in the commercial and industrial space.  

As our Data Analyst, you must be willing to work in a hands-on environment with a great team to research and provide data, insights on energy systems performance, impact data etc. Our systems generate a ton of data points on a daily basis. You will help the company make sense of these data and transform them into actionable insights. In addition to this, you will also support the customer success team in gathering data that could help serve our users better.

TITLE: Data Analyst – OGTI Clean Energy Leadership Program

LOCATION: Abuja

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the data repository software of the company which is used to record key information and analyse performance of solar systems.  
  • Compute raw data in large quantities from solar energy systems and interpret them into meaningful information on the state and performance of the energy systems in the host communities.  
  • Collaborate with the technical team, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and notifying them of data issues that may arise.  
  • Receive, analyse and interpret site data, remotely from mini grids at host communities.  
  • Develop and maintain a database of energy data, give insights on the solar energy market and products which includes demand, production and investments.  
  • Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.  
  • Assist with baseline studies and surveys within host communities. 

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

  • Interest in renewable energy
  • Technical expertise regarding data
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical packages

Qualification / skills required:

  • Master’s degree/Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or any related field. 
  • 0-2years of technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques  
  • Knowledge of mining and analysis of data of renewable energy (solar energy) is a must.  
  • Considerable knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)  
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.  
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)  
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.  
  • High level written and verbal communication skills in English.
