Summary of Position

  • Under general supervision of the Migration Program Manager or an Officer, supports the delivery of Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Programs through screening documentation for completeness and accuracy, using procedural expertise, assisting an Officer in reporting and liaison, program integrity, stewardship and governance, promotion and recruitment activities and other support to clients.
  • Requires a developed knowledge of established guidelines and procedures and an ability to be systematic in their work.

Essential Qualifications

Summary of Position

  • Reporting directly to the Migration Program Manager (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, provides assistance and guidance to the MPM and other Program Assistants and Officers on administrative processes/requirements and on complex, high-profile and sensitive matters.
  • Leads on research, liaison and reporting, stewardship and governance, promotion and recruitment activities and other support to clients.
  • The incumbent would be extremely organized, would exercise initiative in organizing work and resolving complicated problems, would have a significant command of the English language both written and oral, and significant knowledge of country conditions of Nigeria, including but not limited to political, economic, and social aspects, and how they impact migration.

Job Title: Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Operational Liaison Assistant (OLA)

Summary of Position

  • Under the supervision of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Liaison Officer (LO) the Operational Liaison Assistant (OLA) will perform a range of operational, strategic, administrative and clerical activities to assist the CBSA program.
  • The CBSA OLA will be responsible for supporting the CBSA in providing integrated border services that support Canada’s national security and public safety priorities while facilitating the free flow of persons and goods in the LO’s area of responsibility (AoR).

OLA responsibilities include:

  • Reporting on cross-border criminal activities and trends involving people and goods;
  • Liaising with local immigration, customs, law enforcement, and airline partners on CBSA mandate issues;
