Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) – Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria’s largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Job Title: Operations, Intelligence & Investigation Lead

Reporting To: Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Role Purpose

  • This role will be responsible in achieving complete security operations and intelligence management in accordance with organization’s plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a security intelligence and investigation policy for the organization to meet agreed criteria, while ensuring compliance.
  • Develop and implement Principles of Corporate security investigations for the organization.
  • Ensure that the organization meets all agreed security intelligence and associated objectives.
  • Monitor, collate, analyze and manage security intelligence systems, in conjunction with other departments as appropriate.
  • Along with the CSO, manage and direct the overall performance of the security team and its individual members
  • Maintain effective liaison, support and assistance between security department and external security agencies.
  • Maintain and improve mechanisms for security operations and intelligence, including risk assessment and disseminate feedback to the CSO and appropriate internal entities as may be directed.
  • Develop plans for security intelligence and investigation activities.
  • Support to all other departments with security intelligence and related issues.
  • Assist in the developing and preparing the organization’s security intelligence strategy and general business planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of security risk assessments, Incidents, complaints and resolutions including general security operations/activities.
  • Interact and co-operate with all members of the organization, its suppliers and customers
  • Train and Develop the team.
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
  • Assist in performing other duties and assignments as may be assigned by the CSO or CEO.

Minimum Qualifications

  • First degree and professional security certification with at least10 years’ experience
  • Broad-based experience and exposure in security matters (public law enforcement and industrial security practice).

Job Title: Maximum Demand Loss Reduction Officer – RPE

Role Purpose

  • To reduce commercial losses through regular MD customer surveillance, conduct meter accuracy testing, energy data analysis and periodic feeder loss investigation.

  • Joint Responsibility for grid energy reconciliation and compliance to Energy Account Policy by all stakeholders
  • To ensure revenue optimization by giving detailed analysis and recommendations based on reconnaissance surveillance, uncovering and escalating energy compromise for MD customers.
  • To minimize pre-agreed commercial losses by regular customer surveillance, spot meter accuracy testing, energy analysis, periodic feeder loss investigation.
  • To ensure effective energy accounting/auditing of MD customers through adequate monitoring and tamper prevention initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • To provide independent and unbiased feedback to management team on the true state of MD installations and infrastructure
  • Prepare Weekly visitation plans based on escalations and customer complaints and performance reporting to Team Lead.
  • Carry out periodic network patrolling activities that will ensure seamless hazard free environment and reduction in technical losses.
  • Investigate and report on complaints assigned and provide technical inputs and recommendations on various investigations.
  • Periodic surveillance checks for both MD customer and MD Ops team to ensure compliance to company policies
  • Ensure close out of all feedback to internal stakeholders within agreed timelines.
  • Manage Seal utilization reporting.
  • To increase in customer (kWh) billing by spot checking possible migration of High Prime customers to MD.
  • Ensuring SOPs are adhered
  • Responsible for tracking monthly consumption trend viz-a-viz availability to uncover possible revenue leakage for both MD customers.
  • To track customers previously billed penalty and follow up on payment with primary stakeholders
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Team Lead and/or Head Revenue Protection & Enforcement Unit
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Head, RPE

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering
  • At least 1-3 years relevant work experience from related sector/ organization

Job Title: New Service Supervisor

Location: Lagos

Reporting To: Customer Care Specialist – Business Unit

Role Purpose

  • This role will be responsible for all major activation & maintenance processes in the customer lifecycle management in Ikeja Electric

Responsibilities

  • Customer Capture: Will be responsible for the processes involved in setting up a new customer on Ikeja Electric platform(s).
  • This includes authenticating customer details, assigning accounts, authenticating and assigning customer tariff class as recommended by the stakeholders, initiating all maintenance document to manage customer request as applicable in the company and uploading these details for subsequent processing by the billing team.

Customer Maintenance: Will be responsible for all customer maintenance requests all through the customer life cycle on the network. This includes:

  • Authenticating and validating all customer change requests (change of name, address, tariff etc.) these requests are captured using relevant platforms, authenticated and sent to the billing team for subsequent processing  
  • Processing all requests with direct implication on the customer’s account status.
  • Initiating all status change requests and liaising with the Finance as well as the billing team to ensure that these requests are processed.

Book Management: Wil be responsible for the management of all customer account/meter books, KYC documents etc. This ensures that:

  • Account numbers are properly assigned to customers requesting for new setup based on the DT and Feeder mapping
  • Customers do not have interwoven accounts.
  • New Customers are not given pre-existing accounts
  • Customers with high outstanding do not abandon accounts.
  • Proper accounts are created for metered customers requiring account separation

Customer Migration Management: Will be responsible for all processes involved in the migration of customers from the postpaid to the prepaid platform. This involves:

  • Managing a database of daily meter installations
  • Analyzing meter installation reports and flagging all exceptions
  • Initiating the “stop-billing” process which ensures that the new prepaid customers stop receiving postpaid bills
  • Liaising with the sister departments in the computation of all customers outstanding for subsequent migration to the new prepaid platform
  • Ensure that all applications are processed timely

Reporting:

  • Will be responsible for generating monthly reports on all customer maintenance. This includes: New customer capture, Change of Name/Address, Tariff Reclassification requests, Account Reactivation and Account Suspension Requests.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that only validated inputs submitted by ESRs/ESCs are forwarded to Billing for subsequent processing
  • Ensuring that relevant documents are raised in line with stipulated TATs for all customer requests
  • Ensuring that submission timelines are met within the billing cycle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor Degree in any relevant field with a minimum of 3-4 years relevant work experience within the Energy, Banking, Telecoms industry.
