The latest LSETF Recruitment 2022 is ongoing: The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) was established to provide financial support to residents of Lagos State, for job, wealth creation and to tackle unemployment. LSETF serves as an instrument to inspire the creative and innovative energies of all Lagos residents and reduce unemployment across the State. The Fund has the mandate to help Lagos residents grow and scale their Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (“MSMEs”) or acquire skills to get better jobs through its three programmes; the Employability Support Programme, the Lagos Innovates Programme and the Loan Programme.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Job Title: Dedicated Loan Recovery Call Center Agent
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full Time
Reports to: Risk Officer (Loan Monitoring)
Industry: Social Impact (Government Owned)

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for monitoring and contacting loan beneficiaries for repayment, especially those within “0-30” Days Past Due Bracket. Create innovative and effective strategies in accordance with legal framework requirements to recover overdue loans.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contacting loan beneficiaries daily and informing them of their loan repayment obligations via phone calls
  • Support Internal Recovery Officers on calls to 31-120 days defaulters
  • Responding to loan beneficiaries’ queries and escalating accordingly
  • Providing daily report on loan beneficiaries’ feedback
  • Engage defaulting members through the telephone and e-mails to recover payments on defaulted accounts.
  • Liaising with Internal Recovery Team on beneficiaries that have passed the “0-30” DPD Bracket that require physical visit
  • Maintain daily activity logs of number of calls, related party contacts, promises to pay and promises to pay kept
  • Recovery of overdue loan (1-30 Days Bracket)
  • Verify information of defaulted payments and follow up with a call
  • Negotiate effective payment plan arrangements & follow up on the progress of payments
  • Write and submit timely reports on performance, targets, and beneficiaries’ queries

Job Title: Head of Finance

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for overseeing the Finance unit of the Fund, including overseeing cash flow planning, preparing, and reviewing budgets, as well as preparing the Fund’s books.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategies and mechanisms to safeguard the fund’s financial assets
  • Liaise with all relevant head to develop the Fund’s annual corporate budget and the allocation of financial resources
  • Coordinate the proactive monitoring and reporting of budget positions of all the departments and units
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of finance and accounting policies, processes, and procedures in line with leading practices
  • Coordinate the identification of risks and medium to long term financial implications of intended corporate projects/initiatives and provide relevant advice to the fund’s executive management.
  • Manage expenditure/transactions in line with the Fund’s approved financial authority limits.
  • Ensure optimal capital expenditure for the Fund and ensure the fund has sufficient liquidity to meet its medium-term requirements and obligations.
  • Develop, articulate, and implement procedures and controls to ensure that the Fund’s financing requirements are proactively anticipated and met at a reasonable cost.
  • Ensure effective utilization of the financial resources of the Fund including achieving cost efficiency in line with its business objectives
  • Oversee the timely, accurate generation of relevant financial information/reports to aid the Fund’s executive management strategic decision making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the Fund’s financial statements in line with relevant statutory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Keep abreast of changes and updates to financial regulations.
  • Continuously review the Finance department’s activities and make recommendations for improvement to the Head, Finance and Corporate services & reporting of product & program performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests
  • Provide recommendations based on analysis and assessment of credit risk
  • Make recommendations on the Fund’s lending model and risk acceptance criteria
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new and existing credit applications

Job Title: Internal Audit Officer

Job Purpose

  • To provide support in carrying out special audit of all individual projects or partnerships entered by the Fund as stand-alone audit exercises.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry our departmental audit in line with established/approved policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Evaluate and examine all project documents (MOU, SLA etc.) in place to ensure the compliance of all related parties
  • Review the compliance of all projects within the LSETF with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate the reliability and integrity of information and financial records (including budget) and ensure effective and efficient use of project resources in the LSETF
  • Analyze root causes of control inefficiencies and prepares report recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintenance of evidence and well-structured documentation of work which fully supports work carried out and conclusions reached
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly improves future project execution.
  • Follow up with all Units to ensure closure of all audit exceptions raised within agreed timeline and maintains the Internal audit exception tracker
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Head; Internal audit based on exigencies of work requirement.
