The National Examination Council (NECO) is body that conducts the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). It was created in April 1999 by the former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar. The National Examination Council (NECO) was mandated to take over the responsibilities of the National Board of Education Measurement (NBEM)
Examinations Conducted by NECO
The National Examination Council (NECO) is mandated to conduct the following examinations:
1). Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal & External
- This is the examination conducted for candidates at the end of Secondary School Education.
2). National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE)
- The National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) is the examination meant for admission into the Junior Secondary School 1 of Federal Unity Colleges.
3). Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
- The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the examination conducted for candidates of Federal Unity Colleges and other allied institutions who have completed their Junior Secondary School education.
Uses of NECO Result 2022 Online Portal
The new Results online system offers candidates a convenient way to check all NECO examination results. All NECO examination results are made available via NECO Results system (www.result.neco.gov.ng).
