    Oriental Energy is a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company focused on Nigeria. Oriental Energy, founded in 1990, has expanded its portfolio and currently has three assets under development offshore Nigeria. These include the Ebok Field (OML 67), Okwok Field (OML 67) and OML 115.

    We are recruiting to fill the position below:

    Job Title: Senior Accountant
    Location: Lagos

    Job Summary

    • To provide financial oversight, ensure budgetary controls, and provide timely financial and management reports for the following related Companies:
      • Nigserve Energy Services Limited
      • Invor Energy Services Limited

    Responsibilities and Key Objectives
    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Prepare monthly management reports
    • Prepare annual budget
    • Engage with Vessel Charterer to obtain purchase order, and timely issue service receipt report and sales invoice. Process sales invoices on the system
    • Engage with Charterer to ensure timely payment of invoices, close out any payment issue and carry out customer account reconciliation
    • Follow-up with Charterer on timely remittance of all statutory deductions i.e., WHT, VAT, and Cabotage. Ensure collection of WHT credit notes and for records evidence of remittance of Cabotage
    • Review suppliers’ invoices for delivery, completion, and accuracy. Process suppliers’ invoices on the system
    • Prepare payment run and forward to group treasury for payment processing
    • Prepare cashflow forecast
    • Responsible for month-end and year-end close process
    • Prepare monthly schedules and reports in line with the group closing timetable
    • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
    • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
    • Ensure processing of payroll in a timely manner
    • Manage and comply with all statutory reporting requirements
    • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions

    Person Specification
    Education:

    • First Degree in Accounting, Economics or any other Finance / Business related discipline.
    • Professional qualification – ACA, ACCA

    Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP), and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of accounting.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of cognate experience
    • Strategic thinking, planning, and implementing skills.
    • Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Relationship management skills.
    • Ability to identify and solve problems.
    • Supervisory skills.
    • Willingness and ability to work with a team.
    • Knowledge of oil and gas or marine industry will be an added advantage
