The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development has disclosed that the reason for the Npower beneficiaries’ delayed payments is a specific departure package being created for stream 1.

According to a source who would rather remain unnamed “the ministry is planning a special package for the batch C stream 1 of Npower beneficiaries who may soon be ending their program.”

The source added that preparations are being made to keep active Npower beneficiaries whose contracts are set to expire this month (September). He added that all Npower recipients would receive their monthly allocation before the end of the month.

Npower was founded in June 2016 with the goal of addressing the unemployment problem and fostering social growth. However, the initiative has been tainted by the insignificant payment of beneficiaries’ allowances.

You may remember that Investors King had reported that several Npower beneficiaries and their families had demonstrated against two underpaid allowances.

The demonstrators criticize the Federal Government for failing to pay them their monthly allowances for July and August on placards with various invocations.

They further request that the program be extended for at least two years, as it was for both Batch A and Batch B beneficiaries, by the Federal Government through the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruk.
